If you are a site owner who just saw StumbleWatch in an access log,
this page is for you. It explains exactly what the crawler does, and how to stop it in one email.
A customer asked Stumble to watch one of your public pages and tell them when something on it changes: a restock, a price drop, an appointment slot, a launch. The crawler fetches that page and nothing else.
| behaviour | guarantee |
|---|---|
| method | GET only. Never POST, never a form submission. |
| rate | A minimum of 5 seconds between any two fetches to your host, across every customer. |
| backoff | Exponential on repeated 4xx or 5xx. Persistent failure marks the watch failing and it stops bothering you. |
| size | At most 2 MB per fetch. Non-text responses are discarded unread. |
| identity | Always the user agent above, with a link back to this page. Never spoofed. |
Either of these works, and neither needs a reply from us:
We do not ask why, and we do not keep a copy of your pages beyond the short evidence excerpt a triggered watch shows its own customer. Blocks are honored on the domain, not negotiated per URL.
